Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB) and Fred Hutch Cancer Center have secured funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to be the Statistics and Data Management Center (SDMC) for the NCI Cancer Screening Research Network (CSRN). The newly established CSRN plays a pivotal role in the President and First Lady’s Cancer Moonshot initiative. Its mission is to conduct rigorous, multi-center cancer screening trials and studies across diverse populations in various healthcare settings, with the aim of reducing cancer incidence and related morbidity and mortality.
One of the key priorities of the Cancer Moonshot is to expand access to cancer screenings. The CSRN Vanguard Study, aims to identify effective blood tests for detecting one or more cancers. If successful, these tests could provide additional, less invasive tools for early cancer detection.
The Principal Investigator (PI) is Charles Kooperberg, of the SDMC. Co-PIs are Ziding Feng and Katherine Guthrie.
We at Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB) are honored and proud to collaborate with the Fred Hutch Cancer Center as part of the Statistics and Data Management Center, supporting the EDC and Data Management aspects of this exciting endeavor.
